ID173 – Protocol When Stopping the Charleston
Question: Is there a rule that states, the player who wants to stop the Charleston must announce it, or does someone in the group ask, “does everyone want to continue?”
Answer: It is the responsibility of the player who wants to stop the Charleston to announce their intentions. If you are considering stopping, it’s a good habit to let everyone know during the first left pass by saying something like, “Please go slowly — I might want to stop the Charleston.”
Once another player has picked up and looked at their receiving pass, it is too late to stop the Charleston. (See also ID148, Stopping the Charleston, is it too late?)
