Question: What happens when a player pushes out the wrong wall and another players picks a tile?

Answer:  There are three possible scenarios when a player pushes out the wrong wall:

    1. Picking from the Wrong Wall:

      • If a player pushes out the wrong wall and another player picks from it, the player who picked the tile has a dead hand.
      • The picked tile remains with the dead hand.
      • Play continues with the incorrect wall, and once that wall is exhausted, play resumes with the correct wall.
    2. Mah Jongg Declared on the Wrong Wall:

      • If a player pushes out the wrong wall and, during play on that wall, another player declares Mah Jongg, the Mah Jongg stands.
      • In this case, the player who pushed out the wrong wall is penalized by having to pay for the entire table.
    3. Prematurely Pushing Out a Wall:

      • If a player pushes out a new wall before the previous wall is exhausted, and another player picks from it, both the player who pushed out the wrong wall and the player who picked from it have dead hands.
