Question: What happens if a player picks a tile from the wrong end of the wall?

Answer:  Below are the rules for picking from the wrong end of the wall:

  • If a player picks from the wrong end, their hand is dead and the other players continue.
  • If a player picks from the wrong end, the tile remains with their dead hand.
  • If more than one player has picked from the wrong end, the game ends.
  • If a player picks from the wrong end, and another player declares Mah Jongg, the player who declared Mah Jongg is entitled to the win and the erring playing pays for the table.
