Question: If I declare Mah Jongg, am I allowed to or should I put my tiles in the correct order of the hand?

Answer: Once a player has declared Mah Jongg, it’s not only permissible but courteous to display one’s hand in the order as shown on the card. A player should reorder their tiles according to the hand on the card once they have Mah Jongg. By doing so, it not only helps other players identify the winning hand, but also helps verify a valid Mah Jongg. This ruling was in MJME 2020 but no longer in MJME 2024.
