Question: I heard the word “Dogging” used the other day. Can you explain what this means?

Answer: “Dogging,” is the term for a strategic move whereby a player discards tiles that are not needed by another player, especially Jokers. In most cases, “Dogging” is done when a player has decided to break up their hand as a way to avoid other players from getting Mah Jongg.  Dogging is not a rule nor is there a penalty imposed on a player for dogging.
