Philippe and Julie are the husband and wife team behind the online American Mah Jongg game and skill-building platform, I LOVE MAHJ. They are avid Mah Jongg players and, even though their schedules are busy, they always find time to squeeze in a few games every day! They’re European by birth (French and British), but the US is where they call home and their lives here span many decades.
Julie’s Mah Jongg journey started in 2011, when a move to a new neighborhood led to an invitation to join the local Mah Jongg group. The group grew to 25+ members and organization of games became somewhat challenging. Philippe stepped in and developed a program to help organize the game schedule, from location to items required. This was the first incarnation of the I LOVE MAHJ website! In early 2020, Julie taught Philippe how to play and he absolutely loved the game. Soon after, I LOVE MAHJ morphed from a game organization platform into a fully-fledged online game!
Since the game’s inception, Philippe and Julie’s full-time focus has been on the development and management of ilovemahj.com. I LOVE MAHJ now includes a whole host of skill-building features, along with interesting articles, tutorials, a teacher directory, a list of Mah Jongg books, a shop and much more! The platform has gone from strength to strength, and continues to receive amazing feedback from its members.
Philippe and Julie are constantly busy behind the scenes, developing new features, tinkering with code, and communicating with their customers. Their passion is helping players build their Mah Jongg skills and assisting newcomers as they navigate the early stages of their Mah Jongg journey.
