ID167-Stacking a Tile on the Second (2nd) Left (Pyramid)
Question: Why do we stack one of the tiles on top of the other two when we pass the second left?
Answer: While there is no official rule regarding stacking tiles, many American Mah Jongg players have traditionally used a stacking method, often referred to as a “pyramid.” This visual technique has been used for decades and serves as a helpful reminder that the second Charleston has begun, and you are now passing your second left. This practice becomes particularly useful since the first Charleston concludes with a pass to the left. This rule is not found in Mah Jongg Made Easy.
