For the last twenty plus years, Gladys’ days and nights have been filled with the game of Mah Jongg. In addition to having conducted hundreds of large-scale MJ tournaments and cruises, she helps local organizations plan and host their Charity events, to which she donates her time.
In 2005, Gladys simplified and codified the Standardized National Mah Jongg Tournament Rules©, which is uniquely tailored to our friendly and competitive game. She also introduced the web-based Mah Jongg Master Points® (MJMP) system of formulating tournament players’ event scores into points and ranks. Currently, there are over 10,000 members.
In 2015, Gladys invented a version of our MJ game that is gaining popularity and growing exponentially everyday – “Siamese Mah Jongg®.” Today, this 2-handed game (along with the 3, & 4 handed versions….“Royale Siamese Mah Jongg®”) – counts players in all 50 States, Puerto Rico and St Thomas V.I., and several more countries that play adaptations of this newer “Siamese” format, along with their own international versions. Siamese Mah Jongg® tournaments are also now popping up everywhere that Mah Jongg is played.
But Gladys doesn’t stop there. You may have seen her double Siamese Cat Mah Jongg Sets and custom double Siamese Racks, T-shirts, designer line of MJ Carrying and zippered cases, and Limited Editions of the All “American Mah Jongg Set: 1776.”
